New Canadians

Produced by New Horizons Media Inc., New Canadians is a national television and web-based show with an audience that you might be seeking. Over the years, we have built great relationships with immigrant-serving organizations in the country, many of whom have succeeded in improving their visibility in the newcomer community through our network. We’re the only TV show focused on newcomers in Canada and are their trusted connection to information and resources related to immigration, settlement, education, employment, entrepreneurship, and more, in their new home country. New Canadians has been broadcasting since 2015 and our episodes are aired weekly on OMNI Television. We also post exclusive content on our website, YouTube channel and social media platforms. In addition to our TV show, we produce Café New Canadians, a successful virtual event series. Each online session boasts a stimulating conversation between our guest speakers – experts and immigrants from diverse sectors – on matters important to newcomers in Canada.

Immigrant Business Network

Organized by New Horizons Media Inc., the Immigrant Business Café and Immigrant Business Expo are both continually assisting immigrants in navigating the often-complex requirements of starting or operating a small business in Canada. The Expo, a one-day exhibition, is a prime opportunity for organizations such as BDC, MaRS, and ACCES Employment to make direct contact with newcomer, refugee and immigrant business owners. Newcomers profit by networking with like-minded individuals and openly discussing ideas or challenges with one another and with business experts. A much-anticipated event, the Immigrant Business Expo is held annually in Toronto, Hamilton and the Waterloo Region. A variety of educational workshops are always on schedule, and also, inspiring keynote speeches by the likes of Paramount Foods’ Mohamed Fakih and Peace by Chocolate’s Tareq Hadhad. Likewise, the Immigrant Business Café – which started as a business-focused casual meetup at the Toronto Public Library – is now a niche multi-city event that garners healthy participation of immigrant entrepreneurs and small business owners to exchange ideas and help one another.
